Some Recent Changes at Gestalt Digital!

Recently we’ve made changes and upgrades to Gestalt Digital, both technical and procedural. The technical issues include changes to the website and to our server. These changes do not affect the availability of your product, or your sales information on your account in any way.
First, you may not have been able to sign in to the Gestalt Digital website. If so, please sign in with your user name and the password of “1password” (with no quotes). Please fill in any missing information from your profile that may have been lost in the changeover.
The great news is that in fixing some problems, we also made some upgrades. Some aren’t quite ready or visible quite yet, but here are some things to check out!
NEW ALBUM UPLOAD OPTION
If you want to avoid sending your CDs through the mail, you can now upload your song and artwork files through the website. Just sign in and a box will appear on the left with the instructions.
Here are a few things to keep in mind about file uploads;
• To ensure absolute best quality, it’s still advisable to send CDs or CDRs. Mp3s and other music files are compression formats. When the file gets uncompressed and then re-formatted into other file types you risk a small chance of data loss.
• You will still need to fill out an album submission form with your album name, track names, barcode and other information. We can offer barcodes at $20/per album if you need one.
• If you have submitted albums with Gestalt Digital already, you will have your own file drop box. If this is your first time, use the general drop box and alert us to look for your file through the album submission button.
Also, we will no longer send your reports as email attachments. Instead, you can download them at your convenience. Just sign in and look for your latest report in the section marked “Your Files.”
FREE TRACK OF THE WEEK
Each week we will be featuring one track as a free download to help create interest in the music on Gestalt Digital. A press release will be sent out each week announcing the free download and any relevant information we might have about the song and artist. If you would like one of your tracks to be the free download, please email your request. This can be a nice little booster onto any other promotions you are doing. Otherwise, when your music is chosen we will contact you to verify it works with your needs. This leads into our next offering…
PRESS RELEASE SUBMISSION
The hardest part of working with distribution is watching great music sit idle and knowing that people would love it if they only knew about it. The truth is people won’t buy your music if they don’t know who you are or what you do.
For each submitted album we can offer the following services:
• Press release submission to press outlets, radio and online resources. Note that this does not include any copy or content editing; please submit good content for your press release. Each release is submitted with Search Engine Optimization in mind and key elements are extracted and highlighted. This service is offered FREE with accounts that have albums for sale through Gestalt.
• Copyediting of your submitted press release, bio or any other written material. This involves a quick overview by a professional copy editor with years of experience in the music industry. It includes editing for grammar, word-choice and flow plus one second re-write. This carries a one-time fee of $20. If you’ve ever hired a professional writer, then you can see our new partner is practically giving away the services! (Includes FREE press release submission above)
• Content Editing and/or creative writing. With this service you are giving us the material to create your press release or other written material from the ground up. Includes both of the above, e-mail “interview” questions to acquire content, and one re-write. This carries a fee of $40 per page of content, or approximately 500 words, plus $10 per re-write after the first. Once again, this is a phenomenal deal.
If you have an album active with Gestalt Digital, we can offer these services not just for your press-releases or bio, but also for your website homepage and any other material you need help with.
