UPC Bar Codes
Not everybody has a bar code, we get that. Unfortunately, any kind of distribution will require one.
The Universal Product Code or UPC barcode (also sometimes called SKU#) is a unique identifier for any sold or traded product. Every album needs to have its own unique barcode to be tracked and sold in stores. So how do you get one?
The simplest way is to purchase one from us and we will submit it with your album. We charge $20 (price reduced!*) $18 to assign a UPC number to any release submitted without one. Let us know during your album submission process and we will take care of the rest.
We can provide you with a barcode even if you aren't submitting an album, but you do have to be a registered member of the Gestalt Digital website. The charge is $24 if not accompied by an album submission, but this is still a great price.
The UPC Bar Code can be applied to one album, as each bar code must be associate with one unique product.
